This is what I do and how I do it

an illustration of the process jeni goes through when making here clothes

The Process

Every item you see is made from recycled clothing, stripped down and designed into new and exciting garments.

  1. First I start by getting old clothes that are no longer needed or wanted.
  2. Then I unstitch the old clothes to try and use as much as possible from the material available.
  3. This is where the magic happens, Using the old clothes, I create new designs with whatever I have available.
  4. The finishing touches are made and new unique clothes are created.

About Jeni

I (Jeni) am the creator of Sister’s Wardrobe and the inspiration behind the innovative products designed and constructed for women who want to stand out from the crowd.

My success in the first year has been down to my talent in creating individual one off clothing items and accessories which have been de-constructed out of unwanted garments and materials into innovative, unique fashion that never goes out of style and helps to save the environment.

I grew up with an ambition to be a fashion designer, and to combine this with my passion for design and colour.

Jeni

I studied A Level, AVCE and did a Foundation Degree in Art and Design at Calderdale College which has gave me the artistic qualifications to move to Middlesbrough in 2004 to study a degree in fashion at Cleveland College of Art and Design.

Whilst studying at University, I created the Sister’s Wardrobe label which is stocked in Dare Boutique, Designers Marketplace, Kiwi Boutique and has been stocked in Psyche as well as various other boutiques in the north of England. I graduated from Teesside University with a BA Hons in Fashion Enterprise in 2007, the course combines the artistic and business skills needed to be successful in this career path.

My aim is to produce a fashion label for women which is unique and stylish, yet ethical and focused towards changing people’s perceptions about wearing something recycled.
